What is Blue Curacao?
Blue curacao is a sweet liqueur produced from the distillation of dried peel of bitter oranges or the Curacao fruit. By the name itself, it is called blue perhaps because of its blue distinct color. The blue color doesn’t offer any additional flavor because all you taste will be orange.
In my cocktail drinks, I usually use the Free Brothers Blue Curacao because it tastes as good as any top-quality brands. It has a clean and clear orange taste that leaves a very pleasant taste in my drinks.
Aside from the tasty zing that it offers to many mixed drinks, it is often used to bring color. It transforms the appearance of your mixed drinks into a more fun and festive mood. So the next time that you want to bring a blue hue to your drinks, use some Blue Curacao.

Boston Shaker vs Cobbler shaker
In mixing drinks, one of the equipment that you need to have is a good cocktail shaker. This essential shaker comes in two types: the Boston shaker and the cobbler shaker. If you want to see their visual difference, watch this video.
If you’re still new to the bartending game, use a cobbler shaker because it’s easy to use. Just close the lid and do the shake. It already comes with a built-in strainer too, one feature that is not offered by its counterpart.
For those with a skill in shaking drinks, Boston shaker is your best bet. It has a larger capacity and offers a better water-tight seal than its counterpart. It also doesn’t freeze shut, unlike the cobbler which can be hard to open once it has cooled from the ice. Since this has no built-in strainer, you to have a cocktail strainer if you choose this one.
